Song About Love That Will Never Hapoen Again Rick and Roll
Picture this: Y'all've orchestrated the perfect at-dwelling date for your significant other, featuring candles, wine, and a lovingly home-cooked (or lovingly ordered via app) dinner. Simply just as your person texts you that they're on their manner, yous realize that yous have no idea what sort of music to play to retain the romantic ambience. After all, you can't accept your early 2000s guilty pleasure songs come up on shuffle while you're trying to stare lovingly into your partner'south optics (nothing ruins the mood like the distinctive "youuuuuu" at the get-go of "Soulja Male child." And yeah, that example is based on a true story).
Anyway, I've got you covered with my list of the most beautiful, hopeful, and achingly romantic songs ever written (in my humble opinion). Y'all'll have your crush/partner/Bumble date swooning.
"ROS" - Mac Miller
Almost romantic lyrics: "I'g in your eye, I'm in your dream/ So fuck the earth it's you and me"
Rationale: When the outside world becomes brutal, many couples turn in and develop that us-against-the-world mindset. In "ROS," Mac Miller captures what it'southward like to feel close to someone, spending much of this vocal describing the little things he loves well-nigh his partner, like her "stained glass" eyes, butterscotch-scented peel, and kiwi-flavored lips. The lyrics are intimate in every manner, and Mac delivers them with his feature rawness.
"These Arms of Mine" - Otis Redding
Virtually romantic lyrics: "These arms of mine, they are solitary/ Lonely and feeling blue/ These arms of mine, they are yearning/ Yearning from wanting you lot"
Rationale: This song hits me correct in the chest. It'south impossible not to feel your arms and chest aching similar Reddings' when he sings near called-for to hold his lover. The music crescendos around his shine voice as he begs, "And if you would let them hold you/ Oh, how grateful I would exist." It's such a sweetness, earnest plea for love, and its focus on physicality is pretty sexy, too.
"Ex Cistron" - Lauryn Hill
Most romantic lyrics: "See, no one loves y'all more than me/ and no 1 ever will"
Rationale: No i knows how to obliterate me emotionally quite like Lauryn Loma does. In "Ex Gene" (and on this whole album, let'due south be real), she'southward vulnerable, baring all her devotion to her young man. We recognize straightaway that her relationship is toxic, but Hill's honesty is so beautiful that we humble listeners have no pick but to sit, transfixed, and mind.
"Skinny Love" - Bon Iver
Virtually romantic lyrics: "Told my love to wreck it all/ Cut out all the ropes and allow me fall"
Rationale: When this song came out in 2007, I was in center school. I could non stop singing it as I traipsed through my house, nigh-tears as I crooned about "the sink of claret and crushed veneer," equally though my twelve years on earth had been rife with tragic dear affairs.
Nevertheless, this song still holds up. Bon Iver is a chief at depicting what it'south like to fully surrender yourself to someone while aware that they may injure you lot in the terminate. I still sing this song while I lounge around my fiddling studio apartment, cartoon on real-life experiences this time, though I assure yous that none of them involved blood-filled sinks or crushed veneers.
"Leather and Lace" - Stevie Nicks & Don Henley
Most romantic lyrics: "Lovers forever, face up to confront/ My city, your mountains/ Stay with me, stay/ I need y'all to dearest me/ I demand you today/ Give me to me your leather, take from me my lace"
Rationale: This is Stevie Nicks' lyricism at its near poignant. She wrote "Leather and Lace" herself and and so performed it with Don Henley (of The Eagles) while they were dating. This duet is beautiful in and of itself, but their chemical science and passion for each other makes information technology all the more impactful. An ex played this for me once, unprompted, and I remember thinking, My God, dude. Why would you do this to me?
Wrecked.
The Fashion You Look Tonight" - Frank Sinatra
Nigh romantic lyrics: "Lovely, never, never change/ keep that breathless charm/ won't yous please accommodate information technology?/ 'Cause I dear you/ Just the fashion you wait tonight"
Rationale: Ah, yes. The song that plays at every hymeneals on earth. Popular songs are pop for a reason, though, and this one endures because of the accepting, unconditional sort of honey that it depicts. In addition to Sinatra's version, I'1000 also partial to Fred Astaire'due south rendition in the 1936 moving-picture show Swing Time and the sweet yet natural language-in-cheek visuals go along with it.
"Everlasting Lite" - The Black Keys
Near romantic lyrics: "Permit me be your everlasting low-cal/ Your train going away from pain/ Love is the coal that makes this train coil/ Allow me be your everlasting light"
Rationale: If you read the lyrics without the music, the whole song sounds kind of similar a belatedly nineteenth century poem. The dear in this song is so pure and hopeful, and you lot'll definitely proceeds cool-points by playing The Black Keys on a offset appointment.
"To Know Him Is To Honey Him" - Amy Winehouse
Near romantic lyrics: "To know, know, know him/ Is to love, honey, love him/ Just to see that smile/ Makes my life worthwhile"
Rationale: No 1 does unbridled love like Amy Winehouse. Her soulful vocalization takes middle stage in this Phil Spector cover, and if you're not already in beloved, it volition brand you want to be.
"Similar Real People Practice" - Hozier
Most romantic lyrics: "I volition not ask you where you came from/ I volition not ask you, neither should you/ Dearest, just put your sweet lips on my lips/ Nosotros should only kiss like existent people do"
Rationale: Hither, Hozier is trying to convince his love interest to forget that they both have pasts (who doesn't?) and to just love him. There's a sense that both people in the song consider themselves odd in some way (again, who doesn't?), and that they've been searching for partners like each other for ages. "Similar Real People Do" reminds us of how miraculous it feels to love and exist loved back.
"Tin't Take My Optics Off You lot" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons
About romantic lyrics: "You're just as well good to be true/ Can't take my eyes off of you/ You'd exist similar heaven to touch/ I wanna hold y'all so much"
Rationale: To quote every Boomer from my dwelling country of New Jersey: They merely don't make 'em like this anymore. And information technology's true―this song manages to residual emotional and sexual yearning without beingness crude.
And just... the gratitude Valli feels when he sings near loving his daughter so much that he thanks God he's live. My Lord. They actually just do not brand 'em quite like this anymore.
"Forrest Gump" - Frank Ocean
Most romantic lyrics: "My fingertips and my lips/ They burn down from the cigarettes/ Forrest Gump, you run my mind, boy/ Running on my listen, boy"
Rationale: This is Frank Ocean'south most criminally underrated vocal and I will fight anyone who has anything negative to say almost it. In fact, I once made a very loud, spirited defense of this vocal when I was in high school, right after Ocean's sick-received performance of it at the 2013 Grammys.
The song is told from the perspective of Jenny in the 1994 picture show Forrest Gump. It's near a cleaved, tired person coming back to their pure, indelible love afterward a great deal of fourth dimension has passed. It's peculiarly meaningful, in my opinion, considering Ocean penned the song in the wake of his very public coming-out.
"Take Me The Way I Am" - Ingrid Michaelson
Almost romantic lyrics: "'Cause I dearest you more than I could e'er promise/ And yous take me the mode I am"
Rationale: What a throwback! Ingrid Michaelson was responsible for some of the sweetest manic-pixie-dream-girl love songs of the early 2000s, and this one was her most pop. Michaelson rejoices in having constitute a partner who loves her, flaws and all, and she responds in kind, promising to repair what her partner breaks and buy him Rogaine when his hair starts falling out. It's a promise to love someone forever.
"I'one thousand Not Dead" - P!nk
Most romantic lyrics: "Right across the cigarette and the devilish smile/You're my crack of sunlight/ Y'all can practise the math a thousand ways/ But you lot can't erase the facts/ That others come and others get/ Just yous always come back"
Rationale: This is my favorite era of P!nk's music. In "I'm Non Expressionless," she writes a frank, unapologetic beloved song about beingness a flawed homo securely in dearest with another flawed human. Waxing poetic about her and her young man'due south (her future husband, Cary Hart, by the mode) tattoos and alluding to her own mental illness, P!nk eschews all tired clichés about love in favor of something far more authentic and affecting.
"Hannah Hunt" - Vampire Weekend
Most romantic lyrics: "A man of faith said subconscious optics could see what I was thinkin'/ I only smiled and told him/ That was just true of Hannah"
Rationale: Oh, Ezra Koenig, how you wound me with your beautiful words! In this vocal, our narrator seems to exist moving around the U.Southward. with his beloved Hannah until she grows homesick for the east coast. Having lived in New England for around seven years, I'm fractional to this song for its "freezing beaches" references, only information technology's too a gentle tribute to the way time glides abroad when you're with someone you lot love.
"A Song For You" - Donny Hathaway
Nearly romantic lyrics: "I love you in a place/ Where there's no space or time/ I beloved you lot for my life/ You're a friend of mine/ And when my life is over/ Remember when we were together"
Rationale: There accept been many versions of this song, but this one'southward my favorite. Information technology was also Amy Winehouse'south favorite. Donny Hathaway sings this with such feeling that i can't help but experience he'southward reciting a memoir when he sings his amends to a woman he neglected to settle down with because he was too busy performing around the globe.
"Maps" - Yep Yeah Yeahs
Most romantic lyrics: "Don't stray/ My kind'southward your kind/ I'll stay the same."
Rationale: Yes, this song is 90 percent just Karen O singing "Look, they don't dear you like I dear y'all," merely it's so powerful! If you say something the right fashion, and the accompanying music is good enough, there's no need to embellish much more than. Proof: Beyoncé clearly nods to this song in her 2022 single "Hold Up." "Maps" endures, over a decade later, across genres.
"If I Ain't Got You lot" - Alicia Keys
Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "Some people want diamond rings/ Some only want everything/ But everything ways nothing/ If I own't got y'all"
Rationale: This song is all the more touching when you recall that she wrote it just as she was beginning to get famous. She promises that her renown―the fruit of all her labor―forth with promises of riches, jewelry, or endless life would all mean goose egg if she didn't have her man.
"Pine Tree Lines" - Told Slant
Most romantic lines: "I am the girl my parents fabricated/ Why don't y'all love me anyhow/ 'Cause I beloved the way you take upwards space"
Rationale: Devastating genius. Lead singer Felix Walworth delivers this song so earnestly that his voice literally cracks during that last line. I've never heard a simpler or more startlingly accurate depiction of admiration than loving the way someone takes up space.
"Inevitable" - Shakira
Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "To be even more honest/ No ane thinks well-nigh you/ The way I practise" (Translated from Spanish)
Rationale: Shakira spends well-nigh of this song laying out all her imperfections―that she doesn't know how to brand coffee, that she doesn't understand soccer, that she oversleeps, etc.―then proceeds to enquire her man to love her anyway.
"I Found You" - Alabama Shakes
Nearly romantic lyrics: "I recall all them solitary days/ I traveled out on my own/ Then you brought me everything/ You made my firm a dwelling"
Rationale: This is a commemoration of finally finding your person. So who meliorate to mind to it with than your person? Romantic, indeed.
"Rag Doll" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons
Virtually romantic lines: "I'd change her sad rags/ Into glad rags if I could/ My folks won't let me/ 'Crusade they say that she'southward no good."
Rationale: Another Iv Seasons song, yes. I'm from Jersey. Sue me.
Franki Valli declares his unconditional love for a girl much poorer than he is, fantasizing about replacing her tattered clothes with lace and finery. In spite of her poverty, he ends the song past crying, "I dear y'all just the way you are."
He wants to give everything to someone who can offer him nil textile. All he wants is her.
"Since I've Been Loving You" - Led Zeppelin
Most romantic lyrics: "But baby, since I've been loving you, yes/ I'thou well-nigh to lose my worried mind/ Oh, yeah"
Rationale: Human being, these lyrics wait so underwhelming when written downward sans musical accompaniment. It'due south tragic.
What makes this song then romantic, to me, is the organ and bass piece of work by John Paul Jones pair with Robert Plant's searing vocals. It's a power blues song that hits y'all right in the gut. If drastic desire were a sound, this would exist information technology.
"You Got Me" - Erykah Badu and The Roots
Nearly romantic lines: "If you don't worry 'bout where/ I been or who I saw or/ What society I went to with my homies/ Baby, don't worry, yous know that you got me"
Rationale: I cried when I saw this live. Erykah reassures her boyfriend during the chorus that she'll always be loyal to him, while Blackness Thought (lead MC of The Roots) uses his verses to tell the story of a lifelong romance. It's the best love song in hip hop, hands down.
"(You Brand Me Experience Similar) A Natural Woman - Aretha Franklin
Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "When my soul was in the lost and found/ You came along to merits it/ I didn't know just what was wrong with me/ 'Til your kiss helped me name it"
Rationale: We should heal ourselves rather than await effectually for someone to heal united states of america, but that doesn't mean that honey tin can't be a healing experience. It's really romantic to thank someone for making you feel good, and that's precisely what this song (written past the flawless Carole Male monarch) is about.
"Jade" - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Most romantic lyrics: "Nosotros can't help but follow, she'south Buddha, only lookout man her/ She moves like an erstwhile gypsy adult female but swears she'southward a girl/ And all that she asks we'll allow her/ For Jade is the girl of the hour"
Rationale: Alex Ebert wrote this vocal for Jade Castrinos when they were both still dating and nonetheless the frontpeople of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The vocal is a quiet beloved letter to Castrinos―you could imagine Ebert singing it to her at night past the campfire while the residuum of the band is comatose (that's this band'southward vibe, actually). It's a shame that nosotros no longer become to scout the sugariness human relationship betwixt these talented musicians, simply at to the lowest degree we'll always accept this hippie dearest vocal.
"Wild Horses" - The Rolling Stones
Most romantic lyrics: "Graceless lady/ You know who I am/ Y'all know I tin can't let you/ Slide through my easily/ Wild horses/ Couldn't elevate me abroad"
Rationale: One of the wildest bands of the '60s and '70s besides happened to write ane of the most poignant songs nearly dearest and devotion. This is most a long, deep intimacy between two people, and of beingness physically unable to resist the person you admire.
"Jim Bogart" - The Front Bottoms
Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "I would slumber better on your floor/ Than I would ever in my bed/ And if your carpet makes my confront crawling/ Information technology'd even so exist sky in my head"
Rationale: "Jim Bogart" opens with the above lyrics, sung with lead singer Brian Sella's signature raw vocals. He abandons all pride in his love for this girl, promising to practice his guitar every night, to sleep on her floor without complaint, and to to ignore his physician's advice―all to win her love. We shouldn't accept to debase ourselves for love (*rolls eyes* yeah, yep yeah), but this is art. And if we're beingness honest, this sentiment is relatable for anyone who's prayed for their love to be reciprocated.
"Loving You" - Elvis Presley
Most romantic lyrics: "If I'g seen with someone new/ Don't be blue, don't you exist blue/ I'll exist faithful, I'll be true/ Always true, true to you lot"
Rationale: Elvis tells his love not to get jealous or to believe the hype around him and other women, reassuring her that she's the i for him. Although multiple sources have claimed that Elvis did, indeed, cheat on his wife, Priscilla, this remains his sweetest honey song.
"Melissa" - The Allman Brothers Ring
Virtually romantic lyrics: "Knowing many, loving none/ Bearin' sorrow, havin' fun/ Only back home he'll always run/ To sweet Melissa"
Rationale: Here, the Allman Brothers sing about a traveling musician who can't get over his sweetheart no matter how many other women he meets. She always ends upwards resurfacing in his mind, and eventually, he ever returns to her.
"My One-time Man" - Joni Mitchell
Virtually romantic lyrics: "He'due south my sunshine in the morn/ He's my fireworks at the end of the day/ He's the warmest chord I e'er head/ Play that warm chord, play and stay, baby"
Rationale: Mitchell's soaring mezzo-soprano meanders through a portrait of her relationship in this song, insisting throughout that, "We don't need no slice of paper from the city hall." She's proverb that she doesn't need external validation of the human relationship―this man gives her all she needs to experience secure in their bond.
"Devil In a New Wearing apparel" - Kanye Westward, Rick Ross
Nearly romantic lyrics: "Put your hands to the constellations/ The mode you look should be a sin, you my sensation"
Rationale: Kanye W is a pretty polarizing effigy, simply this is all the same 1 of my favorite albums of all time. It's a bittersweet tribute to his infamous human relationship with Amber Rose, and this song encapsulates the oft-sexy, e'er-complicated connexion between two people who aren't practiced for each other, yet can't stay away from one another.
"Beloved of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)" - Erykah Badu, Common
Most romantic lyrics: "Only that is all behind me/ 'Cause now in that location is no other/ My love is his and his is mine/ A friend became the/ Dear of my life"
Rationale: Conventional communication tells us to fall in love with someone who can be our friend, besides. This song is about two lifelong all-time friends who detect their way back to each other later on time spent apart. With her famously beguiling voice, Erykah Badu captures the joy of being truly known by one'southward partner.
"A Dominicus Kind of Love" - Etta James
Nigh romantic lyrics: "I desire a Sunday kind of beloved/ A dearest to final by Sabbatum night/ I want to know information technology'due south more than honey at first sight"
Rationale: We've all been at this betoken before. If Etta James were to have written this vocal today, she would have been explaining that she was sick of one-night-stands and Tinder/Bumble/Hinge dates that go nowhere. She'd be proverb she was tired of sweaty strangers in bars shouting into her ear, over deafening music, request if she wants to have a shot.
Instead, she'd desire something substantial. Someone to relax and binge Schitt's Creek reruns with on the weekends.
May we all observe that Sunday kind love.

"Babe I'm Yours" - Arctic Monkeys
Almost romantic lyrics: "Baby, I'one thousand yours/ And I'll exist yours until the stars fall from the heaven/ Yours until the rivers all run dry/ In other words, until I die"
Rationale: This song sounds like it was written in the '50s or '60s. In some means, information technology's your run-of-the-manufacturing plant slow vocal, but at that place'southward something mannerly nearly the Arctic Monkeys beingness the ones to perform this retro pledge of devotion.
"She Will Be Loved" - Maroon 5
Nigh romantic lyrics:"I don't mind spendin' everyday / Out on your corner in the pourin' rain"
Rationale:I remember listening to this song in middle school, wishing that the boy I had a beat on would love me enough to stand outside my window in the rain. In retrospect, that would have been awkward and inconvenient to explicate to my female parent, and these days I would probably discover such behavior creepy (when I'm in my pajamas in my apartment, peacefully eating Takis and watching The Sopranos, the last thing I demand is a man standing outside, watching me from the street similar something out of The Exorcist), but the sentiment of this song withal stands.
"Considering the Night" - Patti Smith
Most romantic lyrics: "Come up on, now, try and sympathise/ The fashion I feel when I'k in your hands/ Take my hand, come undercover/ They tin can't hurt you now"
Rationale: In this song, which was originally written past lyrical legend Bruce Springsteen, Smith promises her lover that he's prophylactic with her. If you've read Smith'southward book Just Kids, y'all'll probably mind to this vocal and think of her and Robert Mapplethorpe singing and dancing to it down the streets of lower Manhattan.

"La Vie En Rose" - Edith Piaf
Most romantic lyrics: "When he holds me in his arms/ And he speaks to me softly/ I come across the world through rose-colored glasses" (Translated from French)
Rationale: You definitely know this song. It'southward the go-to for every romantic scene in every American movie most France. And, granted, information technology'south a great choice for a dinner date, especially if you want to get a picayune slow dancing started.
"Anytime" - The Growlers
Most romantic lyrics: "But stay for 1 more than dark/ One day you're gonna be my married woman/ You'll never take to worry once more/ I'thou gonna be your man"
Rationale: Information technology sounds lead vocaliser Brooks Nielsen's now-wife was getting really ill of his bullshit, and that he wrote this song as a plea to get her to say. It's poetic, energetic, and hopeful, and it would take worked on me, too, tbh.
"Wouldn't Information technology Be Nice" - The Embankment Boys
Most romantic lyrics: "Wouldn't information technology be nice if we were older?/ Then we wouldn't have to expect so long"
Rationale: This is sung from the perspective of someone who's already certain about who he wants to spend the balance of his life with. And he'southward wishing that the rest of his life could start correct now.
"Stay" - Rihanna, Mikky Ekko
Most romantic lyrics: "Not really sure how to feel about it/ Somethin' in the way you move/ Makes me experience like I tin't live without yous"
Rationale: Honey isn't a formula. There's no real logic to why we fall in love with some people but not others, and Rihanna hits the boom on the head when she says it'due south just "something in the style [he] movement[s]." It's reminiscent of The Beatles' vocal "Something." Speaking of which...
"Something" - The Beatles
Well-nigh romantic lyrics: "Something in the way she moves / Attracts me like no other lover / Something in the style she woos me / I don't want to leave her now"
Rationale:This song is a slow, dreamy ode on an otherwise bluesy album. George Harrison was the Beatle who penned it, writing that he wasn't sure what exactly triggered his dear or whether it would grow. All he knew was that the beloved was there, and that that should be enough.

"Androgynous" - The Replacements
Most romantic lyrics: "And they love each other so/ Androgynous/ Closer than we know, love each other and so/ Androgynous"
Rationale: This song is about ii non-binary people falling in love, which is pretty absurd for a song from 1984. Our main characters, archetypically named Dick and Jane, honey each other regardless of gender. The Replacements make a compelling statement about why traditional gender roles and clothing should brand no difference if y'all're truly in love with someone.
"I'll Be Seeing You" - Billie Vacation
Most romantic lyrics: "I'll find yous in the morning dominicus/ In every lovely summer's twenty-four hour period/ In everything that's correct and gay/ I'll always think of you"
Rationale: Y'all know when you're freshly in dear (or heartbroken), and everything reminds you of that person? That'due south what this song is near. Everything around Vacation―the natural world, a park, a cafe, a carousel―is a addicted reminder of her beloved.
"Sunday Candy" - Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment
Most romantic lyrics: "You've got to move it slowly/ Take it in my body similar it'southward holy/ I've been waiting for you lot for the whole week/ I've been praying for yous, you're my Sunday candy"
Rationale: The Social Experiment is the hip hop collective that boasts members such as Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa (the former of which is featured heavily on this song). Jamila Woods performs the chorus to this song then sweetly that it'south easy to forget the sexual implications, and she and Chance tell the story of a couple that spends a week at a time missing each other, captivated in thoughts of one another until they're finally reunited.
"Come up As You lot Are" - Nirvana
Most romantic lyrics: "Come as you lot are/ As you were/ Equally I want yous to be"
Rationale: In that location are many interpretations of what this vocal means, ranging from mental health to friendship to commentary on inauthenticity. But, to me, "Come As You Are" works as the ultimate grunge love vocal; as a promise to love and appreciate someone just the style they are.
"Please, Please, Please" - James Chocolate-brown
Most romantic lyrics: "Infant please, babe please, please me/ Baby delight, baby delight don't go/ Don't go, I said baby, don't baby/ I dearest you so"
Rationale: This vocal is almost entirely comprised of James Dark-brown repeating "please," and, supposedly, he got a lot of flack from his producers about that before its release. But, like the Yes Yeah Yeahs' "Maps," this runway's magic lies in the passion with which it'south delivered–and James Brown is nada if not passionate.
"I Will E'er Honey You" - Dolly Parton
Most romantic lyrics: "And I promise life will treat you kind/ And I promise that you lot have all/ That yous ever dreamed of/ Oh, I do wish you lot joy/ And I wish you happiness/ But above all this/ I wish you love"
Rationale: Without a doubt, you're familiar with Whitney Houston's rendition of "I Volition E'er Love You," but I love Dolly Parton'southward soft-spoken, country version too. Where Houston belts, Parton croons, making this a peachy alternative for when you want to hear this song on a tranquillity evening in.
"Songbird" - Fleetwood Mac
Most romantic lyrics: "And I wish you all the love in the globe/ But near of all, I wish information technology from myself/ And the songbirds keep singing/ Like they know the score"
Rationale: Fleetwood Mac's members were notorious for hooking upwardly within their ranks, and Christine McVie (writer and primary vocalist on this song) was no exception. This is a unique love song, because it does unconditional love unlike any other: Information technology illustrates how it's entirely possible to beloved someone and want the best for them while accepting, albeit sadly, that yous might not be that all-time thing.
"Outset Day of My Life" - Bright Eyes
Most romantic lyrics: "But I realized I demand you/ And I wondered if I could come up home"
Rationale: This Brilliant Eyes track makes me wish I was meliorate at playing guitar. Frontman Conor Oberst makes a frank plea for his beloved, telling her, "I'thousand glad I didn't dice before I met you lot," and asking for permission to arroyo. It's an exercise in startling honesty, and the result, like the whole anthology, is profound.
"Body of water of Love" - Cat Ability
Almost romantic lyrics: "Come with me, my love/ To the sea, the sea of love/ I wanna tell you/ How much I love yous "
Rationale: Originally, the concluding song on this list was going to exist T.I.'southward "Whatsoever You lot Like" because I'm adamant that it will play at my wedding ceremony one day (I'm not kidding), but "Sea of Love" is too romantic to decline. With minimal instrumentation, True cat Power delivers a brief but heartfelt love letter whose genius lies in its profound simplicity. 10/10.
